song of the day (right click title to download):
pink - feel good time
we know how to pray, party everyday,
make our desolation a play,
riding in a rut till the power's cut -
we don't even have a good name. . .
- i like this song quite a bit, but the lyrics don't make any sense. at ALL. i swear pink just babbles on the entire song (akin to the rest of her songs), rattling off meaningless phrases like "now our time. . .real good time!" what does that mean ANYWAY? i wonder if it applies at all to the new charlie's angels movie (it's supposed to be on the soundtrack). . .
a highly musical day.
- the morning was mostly a blur, but i wasted most of it taking care of my dad (who had a terrible cough - ack =/) and transferring some files to my laptop (cool toy - bwahahahaha). around 1:30, i left for joy's senior recital, which was in newport beach. i was a tad disappointed by the kinda low turnout, considering the number of people she invited, but i still saw james, rui, ashkan, and brian there among other people. in ANY case, joy was wonderful, both on piano and singing. after it was over, i fielded a few terribly mean comments from james - basically, he was going to an on track party afterwards, and he was implying that i would want to come for an unspeakable reason. and THEN he accused me of going where i was for ANOTHER unspeakable reason. remind me to non-fatally stab him some time. . .
- we now resume your regularly scheduled programming. i high-tailed it over to concordia for julia's and irene's concert - it was the community (*cough cough* chinese, as james so wryly put it) youth orchestra of southern california annual concert, although the concertmaster was actually white (she was pretty good, of course). i hate to be mean, but they were kinda BAD towards the end - not that i'm going to blame julia or irene, both of who are terrific. =D betsy was wonderful on the piano, even tho i didn't expect her to be there - she was one of the better aspects of the orchestra. . .actually, si hyun, kali, and alex tam all came too. at the very end of the concert, the audience all rose to sing "god bless america" - and to si hyun and alex's utter disbelief, i started singing about two octaves above the rest of the guys. while they were cracking up, i sang opera-style (and QUITE loud, i might add T_T) through the entire song until the very last note, when alex's guffawing finally broke me down and i couldn't help but laugh at my own stupidity. si hyun, of course, was just staring with his mouth gaping wide. . .
okay, so i'm not the next andrea bocelli. or even clay aiken, for that matter. wait - that's a GOOD thing.
- after greeting googlia and irenium after the concert was over, i dropped off alex (managed to tailgate irene's car along the way - and mock her snail pace, much to alex's delight) and then packed up to head off to wonderful apple valley in the night. i actually got back by 9, which wasn't bad at all, and had enough time to install some software for my digcam and palmpilot on my laptop. . .and sneak in a few games of civilization iii on top of that. ROFL. on a happy note, my mom was happy that i came. =)

song of the day (right click title to download):
justin timberlake - senorita
how would you like to fly?
that’s how my queen should ride,
but you still deserve the crown -
why hasn't it been found?
- i really like the background/rhythm of this song, although it gets terribly cheesy at the end (except for that line, "gentlemen, good night. ladies. . .good morning.") LOL. anyways, i'm heading to apple valley tonight, so i'll blog once i got there (which could be very late. . .).
psych!!!
- okay, so scrap those plans. my dad fell ill tonight, so i ended up not going to av after all (even tho i still didn't blog. responsible me =.=). i'll make this one relatively short and boring, just like my day. woke up this morning to watch saturday morning cartoons (yeah i'm six years old) - the yugioh was a rerun, but the pokemon was actually slightly interesting - i think. . (don't ask, i know nothing about what's going on)
- at this point, if you think i'm completely immature, please stop reading. it gets worse. i left to meet si hyun and young-wook at 10:45 at the spectrum, but i couldn't stay to watch 2 fast 2 furious because i had to pick up my dad from costco at 11 - on the way back to my car tho, i met up with leslie, who ended up NOT seeing finding nemo because she wanted to see it with someone. so, after some costco shopping, i met back up with shk and yw (their names are too long), and we saw italian job - but apparently LESLIE WAS THERE. . .and i "ditched" her!!!
how does that work???
- ugh. . .rui and jack ended up joining us for the movie, and afterwards we caught the hulk too. a quick review of both movies: the italian job is VERY reminiscent of ocean's eleven, in that it sets up a team of criminal experts to pull of a heist, and at the end the "leader" of the criminals gets the girl. . .anyways, the formula worked pretty well in this case, and if you don't mind the predictability, ed norton does a pretty good job as the villain - and mark wahlberg's pretty damn cool too. nice line, btw: if i've learned anything in life, it's not to mess with mother nature, mother-in-laws, and motherfreaking ukrainians. (that was JUST for anya) on the other hand, the hulk was kinda POINTLESS - it really didn't have an intricate plot except tracking the development of the hulk and how he deals with all the problems that arise. the movie degenerates at the end to a mess of weird battling and whatnot that, appropriately, ends with a nuclear bomb.
- in conclusion, 2 thumbs up for the former and half of that for the latter. in any case, hulk pulled in a june record, so i guess it doesn't really matter what i think. . .but i learned that a LONG time ago. =P

on a sadder note, my mom went back to apple valley tonight, and i stayed back because of the two concerts i have tomorrow. . .and she wasn't very happy. at all. =/ which is why i was going to go to av. . .

song of the day (right click title to download):
george michael - fastlove
in the absence of security,
made my way into the night -
stupid cupid keeps on calling me,
but i see nothing in his eyes. . .
- retro '80s stuff!! i actually just rediscovered this song a few days ago (thanks to kelly for reminding me of it!) - it was a huge dance hit in the mid '80s, and it makes for a pretty good friday night jam song. . .
- loooong day today. in the morning, i met jeNn and daniel (from berkeley!!) at denny's at 10 for breakfast. well actually, daniel ended up coming at like 10:30 because he didn't have his car initially, but in any case i was actually pretty surprised by how cheap breakfast was - grand slam's still only 2.99 for two pancakes, two strips of bacon, two sausage, and two eggs (smoke signals!! anyone remember that from english ii??). after we played some pool back at his house, i was going to go home at 1 but on the way i got a call from shyla, who passed on a message from kim:
kim locked herself OUT OF HER CAR. but it doesn't stop there. . .
- oh, no no no. so first i go to corner bakery to pick up kim's sister. . .and she's not there. so i decide to divert my course to westpark elementary to find her little bro, and he's not there either! frustrated, i FINALLY head to in 'n' out, where kim's stranded, and when i do find her she tells me that she doesn't have her house keys. dear god. we ended up going back to her house anyways and searching in vain for a way to get in (we suspected that her upstairs bedroom window was open, but we couldn't manage to get on the roof), so then we dropped by her mom's office - and she didn't have a key either. at this point, there was NOTHING to do, so we dropped by corner bakery one more time where we finally found an and vinh (her siblings) and i ended up dropping them off at university center. . .
- i then met up with jack (it was ALREADY 4 by then) to play some basketball at uni hills, but i was too sore from soccer yesterday to really manage much - i probably talked more about jack's tennis tourney and wimbledon. =D exhausted, i trudged home, where i found a special box:
my dell laptop's here!!!
- w00t w00t!! sweeeet. before i had too much time to play with it, tho, i went back to uni hills at 7 for another dose of bball, all the while trying to set up a movie date tonight - my parents were going to see a hindi film (chalte chalte) and i was trying to bring some of my friends. only jay and kunal were able to come, and they both pulled out at the last second, so in the end i was left totally on my own to run after my parents. but, as usual, i got lost on the way to laguna hills theater, and by the time i got there (about 20 minutes late =.=) they'd closed the theater and wouldn't let me in. *sigh* depressed, tired, and running low on gas, i returned home SUPER-demoralized, and feeling incredibly bored and lame. gah. =/

song of the day (right click title to download):
santana feat. chad kroeger - why don't you and i
my stomach's filled with butterflies - and it's all right,
bouncing round from cloud to cloud,
i got the feeling like i'm never going to come down -
if i said i didn't like it, then you know i lied. . .
- another awesome santana song, with a guest singer as usual (first it was matchbox 20, then michelle branch and musiq, now this). btw, chad kroeger's the same guy who did hero off the spiderman soundtrack, which of course was another huge hit. i must say though, i haven't heard this one on the radio much, except periodically on STAR; the guitar background's so good tho. .
i was carless today!!
- i actually managed pretty well without it, for the most part. in the morning i wrote up my senior letters to stearns, jacobsen, and seager - and dropped by want to visit leslie (and emily wong!) real quick. . .i still haven't given her the yearbook entry yet. she's gonna stalk me now. after coming back home and playing piano a little bit, i came back to school (NO LIFE) and dropped by want again, this time to give kali and julia their yrbk entries (ended up staying a LONG time, chatting with jackson) and to give toops her end-of-the-year CSF gift. =) mrs. toops is so nice: she told me to keep in touch through e-mail - and i think i will. . .
- alright, so i ran home for lunch, and patiently waited until 2 for the science club barbecue!!! one problem tho. . .see above!! without my poor little green civic (which was getting serviced), i called everyone who lived nearby, but no one was home!! i ended up taking the bus (such fond memories!!) to culver and university, and walking until i was across the street from mason park. . .with no crosswalk!! then ceci and her mom drove up, and she convinced me to jaywalk. . .*feels immoral*
sci club bbq was SOOOO much fun!!
- initially, we tried to set up a football game, but that didn't work out too well - albert (who's not even IN science club, but there ended up being a bunch of ppl who weren't in sci club anyways) dominated on both sides, so we scrapped that after a while and ate real quick. si hyun's mom (and young-wook's mom too) made sooo much food, including bbq chicken, these sushi-like rolls, and rice noodle curry - sooo delicious!! they're wonderfully nice, and everyone really liked the food. afterwards, we ended up playing a massive soccer game, which essentially pitted all the tall people against all the short people and me. seriously, i could see over my ENTIRE team. . .
- but we ended up playing really well!! jason and rui scored really early on, but then we started catching up thanks to a psycho performance from kevin, who ended up with a hat trick (and couldn't seem to miss!). i was playing striker too, but i botched a lot of early chances before shoring up and actually SCORING two goals. . .the first one was this looping shot that scraped the left "post" (*cough cough* actually a SWEATSHIRT), and the other one was this pathetically weak slowpoke that rolled past si hyun's unbelieving eyes. tons of fun tho. . .especially every time yw seemed to collapse to the ground. =.=
a short compendium of neilian quips:
*pat's writhing in agony on the ground after getting hit in the groin*
"don't worry!!! there's always THE BANK. . ."
*rui's lying on the ground, for no apparent reason*
"rui. . .she's NOT coming. sheesh."
*after si hyun picks a player for his team, kevin follows by picking SIX*
"welcome to COMMUNIST soccer. . ."
- enough of that. after soccer, we were completely exhausted, so we resorted to playing mafia for a while. and it was soooo much fun!! i was god the first time, and the mafia ended up winning (jackson hid himself incredibly well!), but the second round was my favorite. i realized young-wook was the detective early on, and right before he died, he told me that rui was a mafia member, so the turn right after i killed him off. then the mafia tried to kill me, but when the nurse (kali) was picking, i furiously pointed to myself and got her to save me. =D afterwards, i had soooo much trouble trying to find out who the other two mafia members were, but while julia was in the bathroom i suddenly realized that betsy was innocent and killed off leslie and julia (those TRAITORS) in a frenzied craze before proclaiming my amazingness. *bwahahahah* incidentally, the very next round kaidi and aditya killed me off soooo incredibly fast. gah. =.=
- and that was basically my day. long and boring blog post, as usual - but you made the mistake to try to read it. . .there was a downside to all this tho - because i didn't have my car, i couldn't make it to the MUN banquet. bleah. =/

song of the day (right click title to download):
ricky martin - jaleo
i have lived a thousand lives or more,
stolen broken hearts behind closed doors,
seen the seven wonders of the world -
and everywhere i go your name is in my soul. . .
- duuuuuude - what could be better than another spanglish hit by ricky martin? (wait - DON'T answer that.) the funny thing about this song is that it's off the album almas del silencio (souls of silence), which is entirely in spanish - except for this song! to be totally frank, of course, this song isn't very english at all; jaleo translates to "fuss" or "commotion" in spanish, but it's also the name of a spanish dance, so interpret that however you wish. . .
the playlist hath been updated!
- check it out if you wish - that took quite a bit of revamping. anyways, so after getting home from grad nite this morning at around 5:30 am, i had trouble inducing myself to sleep. so out of total boredom, i made my dad breakfast (he has work at 6 anyways), and then decided i'd read a little in bed (you know what happens next). alrighty, so i regained consciousness at 9:15, and immediately cussed myself out, because i wanted to see some teachers during 1st period to give them senior letters; guess that'll have to wait till tomorrow. as it was, i crashed want's class and then alms' class afterwards:
- turns out someone stole final test #9 from mr. alms, which can't be good. after he, abhishek, and i looked for it for a while, mr. alms decided to bust out all the tests and find the culprit. i was hoping it'd be someone i knew, like irene, revati, or even ceci - but of course they're not harebrained enough to swipe the final. we found the guy after a while, but by that time he was probably off campus; alms was incredibly nice about it, and kept calling it "just an honest mistake". . .
and now for more proof of my utter stupidity.
- jay and i were walking towards the grad nite entrance, and i was talking about the pat-downs they were doing at graduation entrance yesterday at school - in particular, how they were patting my PANTS. jay, that witty little guju, rattles off, "oh but there's nothing there to search!!" and guess who overhears it?? mrs. pomerleau!! ok so now it's the THREE of us discussing this, and then i, using the great intelligence passed onto me by generations of indian scholars, produce this gem: "but i don't understand why they have to check my GROIN!! i mean come on - there's NOTHING THERE. . ." and pomerleau gave me the WEIRDEST stare. . .while jay almost fell over laughing. *sigh*
- played basketball by my lonesome loser self this afternoon for a while, then realized i was just too tired and went home and napped a little bit before finding myself unbelievably bored. tomorrow will be tons more interesting, with the barbecue and whatnot, but for tonight i'm embarking on a new goal for the summer - i'm going to start studying for the medical college admissions test. oi - i'm such a nerd. =.=;;

beyonce knowles feat. jay-z - crazy in love
the way that you know what i thought i knew -
it's the beat my heart skips when i'm with you,
but i still don't understand
just how the love your doing no one else can. . .
- i kinda like the background to this song - and it's become insanely popular in a really short amount of time (already #7 on the billboard charts, and only FIVE weeks old!). maybe beyonce is better off on her own. . .
- new layout!! already one rave review:
SuPeRGirL02: your layout is so gyrlie!!
SuPeRGirL02: your gay!!
- great. . .more critical acclaim to follow, i'm sure. =.= in the meantime, though. . .
today was GRADUATION!!!
- and guess who came? emily!!! yaaaaay - i actually saw her yesterday, when she visited school (and we spent all afternoon together =) - it was nice getting to see her after all these months), but she came today again anyways. i took a ton of pics with people, but my far-too-intelligent parents only took pics on their NON-digital cameras, so i'll have to get them produced before i can scan them. . .
- doing a bit of retroactive narrative, i didn't do toomuch in the morning, although i did get compelled to write a few thank-you letters (and i mean LETTERS, page long O.o) to ferazzi, calkins, knight, king, and toops. they liked the letters a lot, so i think i might do it again tomorrow. *whistles* chatted way too much in the afternoon, and even on the way to graduation i chatted on my cell. . .which got me into trouble (warning: patheticness follows):
- so we were supposed to meet at school at 3:30 to get on the buses to go to graduation. . .but when i tried to get into the room, the guy who was checking everyone at the door said that my cell phone and pen were weapons. what's DUMBER, the administrators didn't even have a place for me to keep any of my stuff. what's DOUBLY worse, apparently all the guys were supposed to wear a shirt and tie to graduation, under the cap and gown!! all of this placed me in SERIOUS crap, because i risked not making it to graduation at all. . .but i was too embarrassed so i ran home, threw on my dress shirt and tie, and fled back to school just in time to catch the bus. THAT'S when i realized that the button on my cap, from which the tassel hangs, was missing. in a flash i realized i still had my CSF pin, so i pinned my tassel onto my cap for the ceremony until we threw our caps into the air (when i stole someone else's!! tee hee hee). . .
proof that porno is LETHAL.
- enough of me. i haven't blogged this long in a while. . .grad nite tonight!!! time to partayyyyyy. . .
