song of the day (right click title to download):
shakira - objection (tango)
it's not her fault that she's so irresistible,
but all the damage she's caused is unfixable,
every twenty seconds you repeat her name -
but when it comes to me you don't care. . .
- i like this song quite a bit - it's fast-paced, although the story's a bit contrived: standard love triangle - "objection! i don't want a big exception to get a bit of your attention. . ."
i've got to get away!
- woke up this morning and finished my spanish report and english novel. now i shall proceed to basketball. hopefully around four hours of it, until i fall flat on my face out of fatigue. play till you drop. . .

song of the day (right click title to download):
field mob - sick of being lonely
something so pretty as you at home alone?
that's unbelieveable, like when the cow jumped over the moon,
now, i never put nothin' before you -
that's like eatin' cereal, pickin' a fork over a spoon. . .
- such meaningful lyrics. still, the background and chorus are appealing enough to me to merit SOTD status. . .hehe.
- you know, maybe i shouldn't have. i only did it because someone else wanted me to, and because it sounded like a good idea at the time. now, after all is said and done, i realized i was being too idealistic. whatever. i'm starting to wish i could take it back, and save her some time. . .and myself some grief. *sigh*
- it's actually 2:05 a.m. as i add this, but as long as it's saturday night, i might as well put it under saturday. i'm suffering from some serious insomnia, and not of the excited/bored kind either. . .yes, of the pensive kind. rather than do what i always seem to do and revoke my comments from yesterday, i've moreso realized the inherent truth of them; for once, i'm very, very right - and it's painfully obvious.
- the thing is, i don't really want to be convinced of the opposite. not that i want to think that everything's going to suck, but i'd rather just know the truth instead of be superficially comforted. and let's be honest: clearly all it does IS make people sad, and just put unfair pressure on people to do this and that and then that singles out people who don't get lucky like others. so guess what happens at the end? at least someone ends up feeling left out, and then everyone ELSE feels bad for that person, and worst of all, no one has a good time.
or they just pretend to.
- i didn't mean to cause any unnecessary trouble, or be annoying, but the aftermath clearly isn't good, and i'm very much in regret. no turning back now, but everything's headed downhill from here - a scary thought, considering i'm already feeling crappy. whatever tho, it's been a long, arduous, and in large part disappointing senior year, with only a few bright redeeming factors, and i don't think ****'s gonna be one of them. maybe i'll fall fatally ill or something.

song of the day (right click title to download):
thalia feat. fat joe - i want you
but i’ve changed, only got eyes for her -
believe me, ain’t no girl dividin’ us,
we could maybe elope, have a baby and all,
'cause i don’t wanna be a player no more. . .
- thalia's been a huge artist in the latin music world. . .so naturally, she tag teams with fat joe and steals the background from a previous hit ("still not a player," by the late big pun) and gets onto the american music charts. seems like ALL artists eventually end up in the states.
- i'm posting from the lab, although i actually spend most of my time updated yesterday's entry rather than add anything meaningful to today's. nothing remotely interesting in the school day, although i actually pulled off a miracle in spanish today. basically, i had a pretty large stats project that was mostly compiling, but still took a lot of work to do. . .and i didn't finish before school started (see where this is going yet?). so, in spanish, i went to the library "to work on my project". . .and ended up finishing the stats project there. xD gah, i'm SOOO irresponsible. on a less positive note, i got a little irked in physics today, when our lab group got a 6/10 on a lab because malin said our values "were waaay off." and the group in front of us? perfect score with values that were even more off from the ones we got. it's all cause he just loooooves MS and she's his most favoritest student. . .ugh.
ahh. . .'tis nice to rant.

song of the day (right click title to download):
'n sync - it's gonna be me
you're just too blind to see -
but in the end, you know it's gonna be me. . .
you can't deny,
so just tell me why?
- every little thing i dooooo never seems enough for -- oh hi. if such a thing exists, this is my favorite 'n sync song, due in no small part to the classic video where they're all on strings and doing that weird loosen-your-wrists-and-hang-your-head thing. . .
- enough of that. another monday, and thus another slimy beginning of the week. in english we just did some heart of darkness work, and in econ we started picking locations and salaries for our project. guess where i got stuck?
i'm doomed to live in OMAHA on a yearly pay of $45K.
- dear god, shoot me now. to be honest, i didn't take it that badly at the time. . .mostly because i was in a maddening rush to finish my commencement speech, which i still had to finish up. luckily, ms. seager was supernice and let me print it out from her computer, so all turned out well. in spanish, i spent most of the period studying for physics c while trying to resist annoying dahlia and brian - stats wasn't much better for my productivity, since the sub was showing stand and deliver - so i had a paper fight with the wee little junior michelle. physics was probably the longest class of the day, since we did this lab with diffraction and finding grating constants (none of which i had any clue about). . .
and THEN monday started.
- i only got a 90 minute break from school, since i had my neurobio discussion at 3; it was actually incredibly interesting, because it was on memory and how it's not as flawless as we sometimes consider it to be. for example, the ta read out a bunch of words like "sour, syringe, cake, injection" and then told us to write them down after we were done. we were amazed at how many of us wrote down "sweet" and "needle" when he didn't even say those words! even worse, he showed us a page with 15 different pennies and told us to pick out the real one - and only i and this other guy could actually identify the real one! worst of all was when we all saw a video of this crime, and then saw a lineup and had to pick out the culprit:
as it turned out, NONE of them did it!
- the class, of course, all picked some suspect, if only just to pick SOMEONE. so discussion was actually a ton of fun today. . .but to make up for it, lecture was incredibly boring. a word on my professor for this section of the class: he can't speak english. or, he can, but he has a horrendously thick chinese accent, and a lot of his lecture is just reading off his powerpoint slides - so, as usual, i fell asleep. ugh. =.=
- the rest of the day was rather routine: i played a lil basketball in the evening with my brother before working on statistics hw and spanish project for most of the night. maybe the coolest part of the night was watching the dallas mavericks come back and beat the spurs in the LAST minute of the game. crajie!!!
