song of the day:
counting crows ft. vanessa carlton - big yellow taxi
don't it always seem to go,
that you don't know what you got till it's gone?
they paved paradise to put up a parking lot. . .

song of the day:
3 doors down - when i'm gone
everything I am and everything in me,
wants to be the one you wanted me to be,
i'll never let you down even if i could,
i'd give up everything if only for your good. . .
- credit to cecilia for this one! i've always liked 3 doors down, especially "kryptonite" and "loser", and i'm very glad they finally released a single off their new album. definitely give it a listen. . .
- i'm getting bad at this blog thing, aren't i? ANOTHER semi-hiatus, and i can't manage to keep any consistency in my posts. in a feeble attempt to get myself motivated, i'm forcing myself to blog every night at 9:30. let's see if this accomplishes anything.
- woke up this morning at five o'clock to read ONE HUNDRED pages of crime and punishment. *ugh* procrastination bites me in the butt again. i managed to finish by six, giving me enough time to shower, eat, and finish exploravision (this toshiba website scholarship thing, more on that later) before heading out the door. i caught steph lee (who lives in the apartments near me) and we chatted on the way to school. . .i trudged into english, bracing myself for an insane quiz on the century of pages that i had sketchily read in a crazed fit of sleeplessness, only to find myself spared by stearns, who gave us group discussion questions. i worked with ruth and diana hewitt, the latter feeling very isolated when ruth and i abruptly broke into a conversation about hellsing. *w00t!* go ruth. xD
woman, without her man, is nothing.
- stearns just had to run that little trick by us. most of you have prolly already seen that, but basically the quirky part is that the punctuation can be modified to produce "woman: without her, man is nothing." naturally, i prefer the former. >P in econ, we played around with guns and butter. O_o;; basically, those terms refer to defense vs. social spending, and all period we randomly placed different countries on the chart. guess where iraq is. =P spanish was a bit of a nightmare, as we got our practice ap materials back. i bombed the listening portion, particularly the short answer part, where my grade translated into a 70%. -.- by some miracle of god, i managed to get a 9 on the essay, which was enough to get me a 5 on the practice ap test; but that's meaningless anyways. . .
- in stats, want committed a cardinal mistake today: she posted the homework on the board. guess who didn't pay attention in class. i managed to get my homework done before class ended, and even got cocky enough to turn it in along with last night's homework, before connie kindly reminded me that want might just discover my ruthless treachery. in the meantime, we had a group quiz at the end of the period, and our group (which we call wuyang technologies, consisting of connie's and rui's last names - as for me, i like to say biswas corp provides the sanitation services) cruised through the quiz. *mwahahahaha* while i'm doing homework in class, i might as well attempt the same in physics. and so i did. xP at the end of the period, tho, i got my deserved reward when i went up to malin and told him about my med school interview next wednesday and that i'd have to miss physics, only to get:
well i guess you'll just get NO CREDIT on the lab we're doing. NO EXCEPTIONS.
- *hides in fear* apparently, that "no credit" bit is his version of "excused", but at the time i didn't know it, so i got majorly depressed. no time for depression tho, cuz i immediately realized i still had to write the abstract for the exploravision project - basically, you have to make a website on some science technology (we picked quantum teleportation - spiffy, eh?) and write a description of your plan, so naturally kunal, rui, and i waited until the last second to do it. we managed to get organized and sent out the project by overnight mail, but by that time it was already 3 and i found myself headed straight for uci. great.
- bla bla bla. diff eq was same old, and so was biomed engineering. . .only thing worth mentioning was that i finished my spanish hw in bme, which left "only" another hundred pages of english reading for homework (don't think for a SECOND that i want more >D). alas, however, i wasn't destined to go home them, because i had to head to rachael beckner's house to work on her absurdist play. . .by the time i finished working on that, i had to head home, change into my gi, and go to aikido, get EXHAUSTED, and FINALLY GET HOME AT NINE O'CLOCK. *sigh* one of these days, i'll realize i'm overworking myself, but it still hasn't hit me yet. by now, i'm incredibly tired, and now my hands hurt from yet another voluminous blog entry. oh well, such is my personality. *tee hee hee* off to read!!
